The ZL50061 is a fully featured TDM/TSI switch. The programmable per stream rate selection at 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32 Mbps with rate conversion allows interfacing peripheral components at different data rates. With exceptional jitter tolerance, the device directly uses clock signals from a backplane or a low cost digital PLL.

- 16,384 channel x 16,384 channel non-blocking unidirectional switching
- Total of 64 input streams and 64 output streams
- Backplane port accepts 32 inputs and 32 outputs
- Local Port accepts 32 inputs and 32 outputs
- Per stream rate selection at 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32 Mbps with rate conversion
- 4 in 1 switching architecture provides Backplane-to-Local (8 K x 8 K), Local-to-Backplane (8 K x 8 K), Backplane-to-Backplane (8 K x 8 K) and Local-to-Local (8 K x 8 K) data switching
- Exceptional input clock jitter tolerance (17 ns for 16 Mbps or lower data rates, 14 ns for 32 Mbps)
- Flexible per stream Input delay and Output advancement
- BER Pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS)
- Two frame constant delay ensures frame integrity
- Per-channel high impedance output control and message mode
- Connection memory block programming for fast device initialization
- Non-multiplexed microprocessor interface
- 5 V tolerant inputs, outputs and I/Os
- Pin-to-pin and software compatible with Zarlink’s MT90869 device
